Korean Air

Korean Air is one of the largest airlines in South Korea and is a member of the SkyTeam alliance. The airline was founded in 1969 as Korean Air Lines and changed its name to Korean Air in 1984. Headquarters is in Seoul, South Korea.

The airline has a strong domestic market share, with 61% of its passengers traveling within South Korea in 2017. Asiana was established in February 1988. The airline’s first flight was from Seoul to Busan on 28 May 1988. The airline took over all domestic services of Korean Air in 1998. Asiana grew quickly, opening a second hub at Jeju International Airport in 2002 and launching a low-cost carrier, Air Busan, in 2003. In 2003, the airline posted a profit for the first time.

Asiana has a modern fleet of aircraft, consisting of Airbus and Boeing models. The airline operates a total of 81 aircraft, with 57 Airbus and 24 Boeing aircraft in service. Asiana’s routes are primarily within Asia, although the airline also flies to Europe, Oceania, and North America.

Asiana offers a wide range of services, including first and business class, as well as economy class. Jeju Air

Jeju Air is based on the South Korean island of Jeju. It is the first and largest low-cost carrier in South Korea. The airline was established in 2005 and started operations in 2006. Jeju Air flies to a total of 28 destinations, including 19 domestic and 9 international destinations.

The airline’s fleet consists of Boeing 737 aircraft. Jeju Air flies in 36 routes, including 27 domestic and 9 international routes. Air Busan

Air Busan is a South Korean low-cost airline headquartered in Busan, South Korea. Air Busan was founded in 2007 as Busan International Airlines Company. The airline was launched as a low-cost carrier to promote tourism and economic development in Busan. Air Busan began operations in October 2008 with four Airbus A320 aircraft.

Air Busan flies to over 20 destinations in domestic as well as international.

In domestic it covers Seoul (Gimpo and Incheon), Busan, Jeju, Daegu, Gwangju, Cheongju, Ulsan, Pohang, Yeosu, Sacheon, Muan, Gangneung, Yangyang and in international, it flies to Osaka, Tokyo (Narita and Haneda), Hokkaido, Fukuoka, Okinawa, Nagoya, Taipei, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Macau, Qingdao, Dalian, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Cebu, Clark.

 

Jin Air

Headquarter is in Seoul. It was founded in 2005 to to compete with other low-cost airlines in South Korea and to offer passengers a more affordable option for long-haul flights. Jin Air currently operates a fleet of over 20 Boeing 737-800 and Boeing 777-200ER aircraft. The airline’s average fleet age is just 6.5 years, making it one of the youngest fleets in South Korea. It flies to over 30 international cities like  Osaka, Tokyo (Narita and Haneda), Hokkaido, Fukuoka, Okinawa, Nagoya, Taipei, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Macau, Guam, Honolulu, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Seattle, Vancouver, Toronto, Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Krabi, Bali, Saipan.

It provides wide body aircraft, wide selection of movies, TV shows, music, and games. It provides vegetarian, western & Korean cuisine.

Based on the above information, it appears that Korean Air is the best airline in South Korea. The airline has the largest fleet of aircraft and it flies to the most destinations. The airline also has a longer history than other airlines.
